55 Chevy Belair, 2 dr. Post FOR SALE

ASKING PRICE $16,500 (before September 7, 2005)
or bid for it on eBay

Mileage: *68,750 actual stated.

*On the title it states: exceeds mechanic limits.

New Items that I have had installed in the last 3 years: Heater control, AM/FM/Cassette Retro radio, and welding repair on undercarriage.

Reason for selling: I lost my storage facility, and have decided to sell my classic, rather than go through the hassle and expense of finding a new storage place.

Vehicle information:

Body:

2-door Post
Color: Turquoise and white
Trans: 3-speed manual

Statistics:
  • The previous owner did all the restoration and mechanical work from 1998-2001 on the vehicle, and I have complete documentation on work performed. The car looks and drives great.
  • Engine is 235 cu. in 6 cylinder.
  • 3 speed standard on the column.
  • Standard 2 piece bumper on the front, and a new California style 1 piece bumper on the rear.
  • Carpet, upholstery, headliner, and door panels in great condition.
  • No power steering or brakes.
  • All original style F 78/14 nylon tires have 75-80% tread left, and includes a new spare tire.
  • 4 wheel drum brakes.
  • No major fluid leaks.
  • Solid undercarriage with minimal rust and deterioration.
  • Solid trunk floor and body panels.
  • May need a minor tune up to improve starting after a long period of storage.
  • Great driver that would need only a few items to get to true show quality.
  • Paint was well done, and is still good, with the exception of a few paint defects, and a couple of small bubbled areas. It still cleans up and shines nicely.
  • The chrome is all in good condition, with the exception of the front bumper (dull, but not pitted), the grill and surround (which are badly pitted, but not damaged), the horn ring, and the turn signal switch.
  • All electrical items work great. The electric wipers, lights, and turn signals work as they should.
  • The retro radio works great. I will include the original AM radio with the vehicle.
  • All doors, trunk, and hood open and close properly, and lock as they should.
  • The seats all work properly.
  • There is a stress crack (not bad, but mars the look) in the front passenger window, but all other glass replaced during the restoration rolls up, down, and out properly, and is in good condition.
  • The heater works properly.

History of vehicle:

The restoration was completed 7-8 years ago by the previous owner, and included the re-paint, clearcoat, body work, chrome replacement, glass replacement, carpet, headliner, upholstery, and bumpers. The mechanical work was mostly done in 2000-2001, and included engine work, exhaust system, brakes, clutch and main bearings, wiring harnesses, gas tank, u-joints, shocks, water pump, and oil pump. Mechanically the vehicle is sound, and needs no major work of any kind. This classic shoebox looks great, runs great, and is a lot of fun to drive and show.
